Is there some way to determine if keystroke recording software or the like has been installed on my laptop, or is there a way to determine if someone is spying on me remotely? I know someone that had it done to them. Any information will be appreciated.

It's possible for you not to know at all. If it's cheap software the program can show up in task manager or an anti-virus will pick it up. The person would need direct access to your computer, alone, for several minutes to set it up properly. There's usually no way to get rid of it without sweeping your hard drive.. and sometimes that doesn't even get rid of it.
