MTG: Favorite color deck?

What's your favorite color to play? I love playing green and/or white elf abuse decks. There's nothing more fun than having 10 or more creatures by turn 3 and Overrun'ing for the victory.

In the end we're all just chalk lines on the concrete, drawn only to be washed away . .

I haven't played in a long time, but blue was my favorite color when I did. I used a mix of counters, ping damage creatures, and twiddles (they allow you to tap or untap a target card), to shut down my opponent while I pinged and pecked (via thieving magpies) my way to victory.

Re: MTG: Favorite color deck?

My attempts at blue decks have always failed but they're fun as hell to play. I still need to get four copies of the basic Counterspell card. I'm stuck using Cancel instead (one colorless, 2 blue, counter target spell).

I tried making a Blue/Black discard deck once and it worked okay, but I only have one Hypnotic Specter and he seems to do the job well.

I haven't played in a while, I've always won using my unchanged Green/Red Aurochs Theme Deck.

I used to like Red/Black and Red/White. Once I made a blue/white/artifact deck that was capable of giving me hundreds of life, essentially making it nearly impossible to defeat me. I haven't played in years, but if I started again I would probably go for Green/White or something similar.

I like any of the colors except Red.

Actually, I'll use whatever colors I think will help me win the most, but I've usually found that it isn't Red. Part of it is because Red's been subpar in a lot of the sets since I started playing (Kamigawa block). But also I don't like the way a lot of Red cards function. If I'm putting a kill spell in my deck, I want it to kill the creature, not just do 3 damage to it when it has 4+ toughness. Often its creatures are cheap, but won't win if they get in a fight. It rarely gets card draw, and it's other forms of card advantage tend to be subpar compared to other colors.

Why not red? I think it's a fun color. My favorite red card at the moment is Browbeat. 2 colorless, one red mana sorcery, any opponent can take five damage and if they don't, you draw three cards. The obvious disadvantage here is that topdecking this at the close of a big match is problematic if your opponent can afford the 5 damage.

I always had the most fun building red and blue decks. Aaaah....spells and destruction. Most of those decks would end a game pretty fast. They were the equivalent of a Zerg Rush in Starcraft.

I'm a Spike to the core. I can appreciate fun interactions, or whatever, but I focus on winning.

A lot of red's cards are built to try to push through the damage as fast as possible, and the fact that you don't play cards that impact the board as much, or generate as much card advantage, will be negated because your opponent will be dead. But something as simple as a Loxodon Hierarch, or Faith's Fetters, can be a wrecking ball on fast red decks, because they can trade with a guy, AND negate a burn spell to the dome because of their life gain. And in Standard a little while ago, Paladin en Vec with Loxodon Warhammer (and Jitte before that) could be game over right there against a decent number of decks. Not just a wrecking ball, but literally game over.

I don't like playing decks with such glaring weaknesses.

Don't get me wrong. If red has good enough cards, I'll play it every time, and be happy to do it. But red's philosophy as a color tends to oppose mine.
