I remember buying one when it first came out. I bought some flying game, mario tennis, and a boxing game. I had fun for about 2 weeks. But it was so strenuous on the eyes. I was seeing red for days and got constant head aches.

Nope, and I hope never to from all the things I've heard about it. I get headaches a lot, I don't need them more often!

Never had one, but I remember trying it out at a friend's house. I don't remember being too impressed, though. I think the only game I played was some pinball game, so maybe that's why I wasn't.

The Virtual Boy. Was this popular? When asking my dad and brother about it a while back, they said it was a hoax, but imn sure it's not. The system looks cool, but the games in red and black. i think I would hurt my eyes, and besides how good of a system was it?

Well, techinically nothing was "intended" to be anything until a human first "perverts" it by using it for a certain purpose. It all starts with an initial choice, and then every other new interaction that acts on it to give it new meaning "perverts" it into something else. So unless you're willing to limit the use of any one thing to that of it's initial use and hinder any possible new developments that come about, there really is no way to pervert something in the simple sense that "perversion" = "unfamiliar change". The only real useful definition then, in order to make the term identify something deserving of "negative" or unwanted "treatment", is that which describes one usage in some way coming at the expense of something else, such as the virtual boy causing a headache to the person who uses it. But taken alone, the virtual boy is no perversion. It's just a different technology of video games.

That being said... I once had a cousin who owned a virtual boy, and, well.... let's just say that he's always been just a tad bit screwy in the head.

The games were actually really fun. And no it was not popular, It got retired within a year, and I got mine a year later for 20 bucks at KB Toys. which is basically the only reason I own one...

Nestner was cool. I remember they had those Nester comics in the old Nintendo Powers. I also remember they had these virtual boy glasses (like 3-D glasses) where the pages of the magazine looked like a virtual boy game or something. I still have those. I always keep the special Nintendo Power promotions and stuff.

Nope, I've never tried the thing. I'm sure if they made one with the technology these days, it could be pretty cool.
